Parker's Ridge Trail According to the Maine Mountain Guide (8th ed., AMC), this is the oldest trail up Tumbledown. The section that leaves the main trail and heads off to Little Jackson is a bit hard to find if you aren't looking at where it is on the map, once you find it though it is well marked with cairns until you get to the wooded portion to start up Little Jackson. Morgan Road to Little Jackson was fine for them and the Parker Ridge Trail return was pretty good. I started from the Morgan Rd. Following this connector means joining a more difficult trail, so take it with caution. Steep and rugged at times but got a good workout. At the far end of the ridge the trail began to drop, blocking Tumbledown Mountain from view but continuing to provide nice views over Lake Webb. Best bet is to arrive at the parking area (near Brook Trail) early although there is a lot of parking on the side of the Byron Road. Losing the trail is particularly easy in the Fall when the leaves are down and cover the worn path to make it blend into the wilds.
